The day started right with a phone call to my precious mother in Florida, who is going home today. She's been in Life Care Rehab for her knee! She is finally on the upswing and walking on her own and tummy is finally better!
Wish I could give Mom and Dad a big hug right now!
I got a text saying that Dad picked Mom up a Checkers Burger and brought her home this morning... that she is SO glad to be home!
I met the work day with several emergencies at the office. I am sad sometimes when I realize what people are going through in their lives. Most of us have things happen that are hurtful and life changing, but some people meet trauma that seems insurmountable... that always brings a moment of sadness for me personally.
And that's why I need MUSIC in my life...
...and that is why, at the end of the work day... I drove over to Roxy Grove...
...and enjoyed a recital given by my friend Soon Cho! What a pick me up! She is a mezzo with an amazing instrument - she sang with one of her colleagues and his wife... fun... fun!
There I got to sit with two of our favorite people... Will (a.k.a. DLW's 6'5" twin!) and Ann (friend extraordinaire!!) and we (and DLW) drove all over Waco seeking a restaurant to fill our hungry tummies!
We finally landed at Pei Wei for a scrumptious meal and fun times...
Again, friends are sunshine to my soul... and with this couple... the sun shines brightly!!
I didn't even realize I had not blogged yesterday, until late in the evening when my Laurie texted me...
"where's your blog today?" - she's in Las Vegas on her honeymoon with John! So happy they are finally getting a honeymoon!!
TTYNB... (talk to ya next blog)
La- Ti- Do!
